Book & Book Structure (Art Studio 226) taught by visiting instructor Alisa Banks in Spring 2025. This class was focused around research and reconciliation related to cotton — a material closely tied to the book arts, but with a varied and problematic history. Students made three types of cotton paper and created broadsides and a collaborative book around the topic.

Each student had one hour to respond to the prompt “small press/little maga/chap/artist book/zine” with 4 finished pages. The students in the class were: Christa Carroll, Lacey Carter, Deborah Detchon, Leslie Jacoby, Laura Martin, Hollis Moore, Madalyn Rilling, Katie Smith, Jessica Tréanton, Kate Vukovich, Hailey Walsh, and Renee Wooley.
